Summer Student Job Posting: Projects Assistant

We are currently recruiting a summer student for an 8 week contract (35 hours per week).  The successful applicant must have been a full-time college or university student during the 2016-17 academic year and must be returning full-time in the 2017-18 fall semester.

 

Position Title: Projects Assistant (Summer Student)

 

Area of Responsibility: The Summer Student will help with a variety of office-based projects related to adult restorative justice, including program development, and will assist with a variety of other office tasks.

 

Responsibilities/ Duties:

To provide support to the Community Justice Society management staff to ensure that operations are maintained in an effective, up-to-date and accurate manner.

Main activities:

Assist with the development of group accountability programs for persons in conflict with the law, including researching, creating, and developing program content
Type correspondence, reports, and other documents
Maintain confidential records and files
Assist with volunteer program initiatives
Assist with other duties as required

Qualifications:

Must be between ages of 18-30, returning to school FULL TIME in fall 2017
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer literacy
Experience with program development
Knowledge of alcohol and substance use-related issues an asset
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada and meet the eligibility criteria (Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act)
Must submit a clear criminal and vulnerable persons check prior to beginning work

Assets:

Education in Criminology, Social Work, Recreation/Leisure Studies, Health Promotion, and/or Health Education
